Facilities Group Conceptual Design Study

The Facilities Group Feasibility Study was a two part Master Plan: analysis of existing operation organization and building health followed by a conceptual study for growing and transforming the group to accommodate the expansion of the campus over the next twenty years. The analysis included site surveys that examined physical plant, accessibility, building health, and spatial flexibility. User interviews and assessments in multi-part meetings and sessions revealed opportunities and shortcomings of the existing organizational structure as related to spatial allocations. From this information, the design team formulated a new program for growth that also reflected a more nimble work process that would cater to a campus whose “center” would shift with the creation of a new campus. This program was tested through a series of conceptual “test fits” that were developed far enough to establish a construction and project budget.
